Tucker's 1st Birthday!

Yes I know it's been over a month since we celebrated Tucker's 1st birthday! Life has been busy so better late than never I suppose! We had a woodland theme for his birthday which was very fun and easy to plan since my parents have woods on their property. Grandpa cut some tree trunks and we used those for the cupcakes and his smash cake. We also used some for Tuck's 12 months of pics. We had a blast and always feel very blessed celebrating our children with our families present! Hope you enjoy some of these pics!

The food: the tray in the middle we made acorns from mini vanilla wafers and hershey's kisses!

Tuck's little deer smash cake. He got pretty into it after awhile. Yes our little family of 4 wore flannel...I'm a dork and I like coordinating. That last picture pretty much sums up a lot of Tate and Tuck's life...the paparazzi haha!

I made Tucker's shirt using this tutorial http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-sprinkle-shirts.html.

We used tree branches and sliced a little slice in them so they would hold the pics up and then spelled out Tucker is 1 in scrapbook paper. There is a picture from every month from birth up to 1 year old.

Tuck was worn plum out after all those festivities! He had a great time! Something little that I love about him...if you notice in this pic he has his pacifier upside down and guess what that's the way he likes it...if you put it in the right way he may keep it there for a few seconds to appease you then whoop he slides it upside down haha! Cracks me up! Oh yeah and some of you may have noticed I changed my blog name...I wanted something catchy and cute and guess where I got the name...yep you guessed from my 4 year old! He's full of funny sayings always has and probably always will be so the other day we were talking about all of the things he wanted to do in his day and I said oh maybe we can do that tomorrow to which he replied ok mom well we can do that the "other tomorrow"! Oh buddy I love you and thanks for filling our little lives FULL!

Ok so for starters forgive the horrible lighting...it bothers me but I just had to share this funny moment with you!

Today Tate asked to play with the barn and the people and animals that go with it...and then Tucker decided that he was having a teething moment, I guess, so he saw the sheep and instead of reaching for it to put in his mouth he took a dive with his head and voila in the mouth it went! He crawled around for the longest time without touching the sheep just doing his thing ya know! It really was hilarious!

Look who's Four!

How can it be that my precious first-born is 4 today? What a blessing you have been to us Tate! I remember when we found out that we were going to have you...after 7 short months of being married we found out that God was blessing us with a sweet baby...and then a few months later we were able to call you by name! And then u came to us 2 weeks later than we planned which happened to be the day after Thanksgiving...just like you to come in your own sweet time!

And then you've continued to grow up on us...and what an adventure it's been! You are always keeping us laughing and smiling and sometimes we get to see a naughty face...only sometimes though!

We often get the comment..."oh he looks just like his brother" when people meet Tucker! Here's a picture (Tate on the left, Tuck on the right)...you guys look a lot a like but you are definitely your own personalities.

You have a thing for ears...which cracks us up! You tell us what our ears feel like...sometimes they feel like silkie (your blanket), sometimes milk, sometimes Mommy or Grammy, or sometimes a Strawberries 'n Cream from Starbucks hahaha!

Yesterday we went for a swim and I asked you who your best friend was...your reply...drumroll please...Mommy hahaha can I freeze that moment? And then you said Daddy too! You have always loved your Daddy in a very special way...you always say you want to be big like Daddy. Even this morning you woke up very confused as to why you were four now but still not big like Daddy.

Oh man, I know it will feel just like that though. You will wake up one morning and be a big boy so let's not let it go so fast this time! We love you Tate William! Thanks for allowing us to learn all kinds of things as we go, for loving life so much, for always being tenderhearted and showing us a little glimpse of the true joy God wants us to have! You are our sweet baby no matter how big you get! Love ya buddy! We have been enjoying our fall...well as much as we can really. Some of you may not know but my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer on Friday September 3rd. Which really sucks if you ask me...but it's definitely a test in our walk with Christ but anyway I will post on that on another date. Today I just want to share a glimpse of some of the things that we have been enjoying...when life gives you lemons make lemonade right. We really have been trying to enjoy each moment even more lately! Here are some snapshots from our life lately!

Yes I have to say sometimes as a mommy you are just plain exhausted! That's been me this week! But then I remember they are only little once right! They will only be able to sit on my lap and laugh for a little while...so I'll take the restless nights and enjoy cat naps and snuggle while I can!

We celebrated Tucker's 5 month birthday! The cupcake is a little squishy but that's a 5 on there hehe!

Tate's very interesting in "what number" Tucker is! So he's putting up his 5 this month. It was quite funny because when Tucker was 3 months he loved that they were the same number. So when I was explaining that he wasn't 3 months anymore but 4 months and then 5 months it was a rough day for him haha! I guess he thought they'd be at the same number for awhile!

And last...we finally got to meet Dave! We were driving home from my Pawpaw's funeral and decided we'd try again to see if we could catch Dave. (We stopped on our way to Florida a few weeks back and missed him!) So we stopped had several of Martha's famous "free" cookies and a chocolate covered strawberry and got this picture with Dave! We were excited! Gotta love the face from Tate! This is the man who encourages us (even when Robbie breaks his hood release on his '91 Buick Regal and spends 4 hours trying to get his hood to pop so that he can refill it with oil during his routine oil changes on the cars) when Robbie says I don't care I'm going to go buy a brand new car! Then we listen to Dave and get a little reality check and we're all better! Haha! Well, on that note as I said before I'm exhausted and so now I'm heading to rest! Happy Sunday!

Big Week!

Hello all I can't believe it's been 10 weeks since I've posted! Tucker's going to be 13 weeks tomorrow, let's just say it's been busy getting used to being a mama of two, but also wonderful! Tucker is a very sweet, happy content little guy he really only cries for 3 reasons...poopy diapers, wants to eat, or wants to sleep (swaddled and in his own bed by the way haha)! Tate really loves his little brother he always wants to kiss or hug him and is always trying to find a little friend for Tucker to have! Tate loves to have Tyrone (from the backyardigans) so he feels Tuck needs a friend, in fact we kinda have to watch him because I'll go in and Tucker will have like 3 friends in his bed with him, so sweet! Anyway, Tucker turns 13 weeks...I turn 27 and Rob and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! What a wonderful week! We feel very blessed with what God has blessed us with... 2 amazing boys and much more...we've learned a lot since day 1 and are so excited to see what God has in store for the rest of our journey! I thought I would leave u with a few updated pics of the boys!

Introducing Tucker Drew...

Tucker Drew arrived on March 9, 2010 at 4:20 pm weighing 7 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 21 inches long. We are so blessed to now have two little boys! Tate is really loving his brother! Here are a few pics of the last 3 weeks!

Starting at the beginning this is me at 39 weeks pregnant!

We decided to go ahead and have my water broken on Tuesday March 9th since I was having great progress and was more than ready to have this little boy! Here's Robbie and I at the hospital!

This is were it gets ugly haha! We walked and walked for awhile trying to get contractions to be strong and regular this was our walking team...Robbie, my mom, my doula, Carol, and behind the camera Melissa! By the way they were all great and are the best labor team ever! Notice I am still smiling!
And then 7 1/2 hours later...lots of wonderful techniques and help from my team...he came! Here we are with our doctor who was the greatest!
Tate came and met his baby brother...he was shy at first but warmed up quickly!
We've had a lot of family and friends visit which has been wonderful! Here are Tate and Tucker with there "T" shirts!
And now he's growing....here at 1 week!

Snow days!

Today was our first day with snow! Let me just say that for Tate that was so exciting. Of course it takes you almost as long to get dressed for the snow as it does to actually play in it. We ran and chased each other and threw snowballs he wanted to make a snowman but with only an inch of snow that doesn't work out really well. Here are some pics of T in the snow! OH yes and how could we forget his favorite toy his mower he had to try it and finally set it aside and declared it's too hard in the "now"! Haha!

OH yes and for those interested I thought I would post a pic of my updated belly! He's growing growing growing! I'm almost 27 weeks so hard to believe and so exciting!

Baby Boy #2

Today we had our ultrasound for our baby. Robbie, Tate and I all went and it was so fun to hear that we are having another baby boy! Tate looked at the ultrasound lady as if she was saying nothing new because he had already decided he was having a baby brother and guess what, he was right! The baby is measuring a little big (about a week) which was similar to Tate but everything looks great they told us. We are so excited and feel a big relief to know that the baby is healthy. So here are some pics from today!

Yes we found out about a minute into the process that it's a boy he wasn't being shy!

I love this picture of his spine, he kept moving around the whole time arching his back and chest it was quite funny.

The Pumpkin Patch

This past Saturday we woke up to a beautiful day so we decided to head to the pumpkin patch and were blessed to have Auntie Melissa with us. Tate had so much fun, he rode a train painted like a cow, rode a pony, hunted for the perfect pie pumpkin (he had a hard time b/c most of them were dirty and he wanted to find one without dirt on it haha) and a "big" pumpkin too. He also lead us all on a corn maze, we ate the best pork tenderloin sandwiches and homemade apple cinnamon donuts and drank some great apple cider. We had fun and were so thankful for a lovely day. Hockey Night in...Fishers

I guess in our attempt to enjoy the season of fall that's coming soon, and Tate's eagerness to "play hockey" we decided we would take Tate to the Forum for a little skating lesson. He woke up on Saturday morning and as usual we put his little undies on since we are in the midst of potty training and he decided he wanted to have his "hockey shoes" as he calls them on. So Rob laced them up and got out his hockey helmut and entertained the little fellow. But I guess that wasn't good enough as later that day we ended up at the ice rink. Me being pregnant I decided to stay off the ice and take some pics! Tate was really excited to say the least. He stepped on the ice and within the first minute he fell on his bum and told us very cleary "done." Well, as you know the time it takes to get an almost 3 year old anywhere much less in warm clothes, hockey skates and helmut we knew we couldn't give up there. So after Robbie rode him around the rink on his belly as Tate says Tate decided with a little motivation that he was ready to try again. It ended up that we had to offer some concession stand popcorn to get him to come off the ice. He had a great time and I loved watching them. I think Tate's favorite part was going in and out of the bench!

Two posts in one day, must be important...

Well, hi again friends and family...I have been waiting to share this news for a while strictly out of fear but we are very excited to say that we are expecting a baby again! YEAH!! I am 14 1/2 weeks pregnant and so far everything has looked great according to my doctor. I started with two blood tests to check hormone levels, I've had two ultrasounds, and heard and seen the baby's heartbeat. We have been nervous since we lost our baby this past April but to say the least are very excited to be pregnant again! Here is a picture of Robbie and I and the baby of course at 14 weeks! Oh yeah I am due March 12th!Hopefully going to try to upload pics of the little bean's ultrasound in a later post!

A short trip to the Dells...

We were blessed to get away to Wisconsin Dells this weekend with my family. Jamie and Melissa usually go every year for there anniversary and this year asked us to tag along and we were certainly happy to do that! A sneak peek of Vacation...

We had a great time in Mexico with 2 of our great friends who happen to be my brother and sister-in-law! Here are some pics of our vacation we had a blast! We swam, did ziplines, rock climbing, the boys golfed, the girls had a spa day and we laid around in the sun and ate like 4 worn out parents haha! It was a wonderful break and we were excited to come back tan, relaxed and ready to work the summer away so that Melissa and I can stay home with our boys! Praise the Lord. Melissa's last day is July 1st and mine is July 24th! We feel blessed!

Update from the hospital...

This is how we saw Tate for the last 3 days even at points the last 7 days. Not his usual peppy 2 year old self. The top picture shows his little bandaged foot where he got his IV after 6 tries, and 3 nurses. That has probably been the saddest part of it all seeing him get pricked over and over again. After 2 visits to the ER this week, 9 total tries for IVs and so far one night hospital stay he is starting to act a little more like himself. He tested positive for rotavirus last night here at the hospital which is a virus that just has to run it's course but because Tate has had vomiting and diarrhea for a week on and off he has become dehydrated which is what makes this so bad. I just talked to the doctor and we are not sure yet whether or not we will be released tonight or will be staying another night. We will keep you updated. Let's just say Robbie and I appreciate your continued prayers as it really has been a tough week. We are saddened and very upset at times but praying that God grows us up and makes our family bond stronger through all of this. At the top of the page are some pics from the hospital! My favorite part about our stay has been two things...the fact that Tate only wants to be sung Jesus Loves Me (or "Oves me" according to him) to fall asleep and secondly that we had one nurse who happened to be a nurse that we had last year when Tate was hospitalized..she's great! Oh and one more thing the fact that they make sides that come down on the cribs for mommies like me who liked to crawl in and sleep with the munchkin! Enjoy!

This is the little guy that gives us so much joy! Tate has been sick since last Sunday, vomiting, fever etc. It hasn't been an easy week but he is so tough. Today we were in the ER for the second time this week. We went to Medchek first but then they sent us to the ER right away. Tate has now unfortunately learned how to say ER! Scary! I watched as he got stuck 6 times trying to get an IV in him. The nurses thought I was an emotional mess...oh wait, I am...because I kept crying as he got stuck and screamed out ouchie, off, no! It was quite a sucky time! Well, we are at home and Tate continues to rest and be a trooper! This little guy teaches us a lot about being tough! He's great and he keeps us going! Hope you enjoy this pic from his Easter egg hunt! By the way, for all of you praying for our family as we deal with the loss of our baby, thank you. We really covet your prayers and appreciate your support and understanding of all our emotions and needs!

Sad News

I am sad to share this but since I shared that we were expecting a little one in December I need to share updates. Robbie and I found out today that we have lost the baby. Here are some new pics! The first ones are of Tate trying to work out with Robbie and I with the bands. He didn't quite get the idea hah! The next two are out of order but Tate successfully put Lamar's diaper on and after that he got him changed into his outfit for the day! I know it's funny but he really is good with babies, kind of sweet! (By the way, Lamar was my baby doll when I was little!) And then the last pic was from today, we finally were able to make it over to the John Deere store in Fishers to pick up Tate's last birthday gift! A new John Deere backhoe. SO now I think it's official we will be moving out one of our cars for two John Deere motorized tractors for a little two year old! Oh the joys of Grandparents haha! Gotta love it! Well, Tate is loved we know that for sure! Have a good night!

Here are some pics from this weekend and week! We had warmer weather (warmer for Indiana in the winter=43 degrees) so Tate saw that as an opportunity to take our his "John Dee" as he calls it that he got for his birthday! We also took a family walk, something we haven't done it seems like since November! We also finally got to go swimming at the Y as a family! I try to take him at least once a week to swim he loves it so much! All the way home from Michigan he said "pool, pool"! He loved that Daddy got to come this time (It's Robbie's busy season at work)! Well, hello all! I finally did it...I broke down and decided to go to the blogging world! I am sure that I have no clue what I am in for! But today I am at home with Tate, who is sick, instead of at school with 25 of the busiest little Kindergarteners so I decided I would do it! Hope that this blog can be another form of communication for family and friends and to share our family with yours.
